Consult USB 14 Pin DDL Interface + Nissan DataScan I Software Package (1989-2000)

(3 reviews) Write a Review

This package includes the Nissan DataScan I Software and the supported Consult 14 pin DDL mini USB Interface required to use the software.

The Nissan DataScan I is intended for Nissan cars build between years 1989 and 2000. Majority of these cars are equipped with grey 14 pin Consult I connector. The connector is usually located near the fuse box.

A list of cars that the software has been tested on is located on the Supported Vehicles page. The list is by no means comprehensive and is constantly being updated as new vehicles are tested. If your car is not on the list but has the above mentioned connector chances are the software will work just fine.

NOTE: Some vehicles up to year 2004 use OBDII (K-Line) for communicating with the ECU, BUT still use the Consult I (14pin) port for diagnostics.

    Nissan Consult Tool & Software

Posted by DaveR on 15th Aug 2017

Hooking up a scanner to the OBD2 port on my 95 Maxima provided little information, other than basic trouble codes. So I bought this adapter/software combo to try and track down a misfire via the Consult port. It arrived within a few days. I borrowed a friend's old XP laptop, installed the drivers and software. Went to Datascan's site and got a registration code, which the software recognized. After connecting the adapter to the 14 pin Consult connector and USB cable to the laptop, the software was able to display readings, after some trial and error. It was able to find the ECU without issue, but I had to re-select items in the Data Display Preferences drop-downs for the data to actually display, as the default settings did not seem to work. The information supplied is useful and it showed an Air/Fuel ratio of 110%, indicating a lean condition, which could be the cause of the misfire. Overall, the combo works well. I did need to refer to the help guide to determine what some of the settings and terminology were. My other suggestion would be to provide the data ranges for specific Nissan's to be able to determine if the readings are within factory spec.

    very suprised

I want sure if this was going to work. The other versions of the same thing I found were $120 for the cord and $40 for the software! Really didn't think $60 for everything was really going to work but I plugged it in, had to mess with the drivers a bit. Just went to the site and downloaded it. Had to install it twice but then it fired right up. Good product! Thanks obd

This software works just as described. This software is being sold for a fraction of what it is worth.
